03 August 2017

Penlon Limited announces the immediate launch of the updated Prima 451 MRI anaesthesia system with the new AV-S MRI electronic ventilator. This latest addition to Penlon’s range of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) products gives clinicians the tools they need to administer advanced anaesthesia in the MRI suite to adult, paediatric and neonatal patients.

Penlon’s AV-S MRI, developed with the assistance of healthcare professionals at the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, has been designed to address the special requirements of the anaesthetist working in MRI suites. The new electronic ventilator features advanced spontaneous support modes, electronic PEEP, oxygen monitoring, spirometry and system integration as standard.

The Prima 451 MRI anaesthesia system, with its distinct colouring and labelling, is easily identifiable as an MR-conditional system and has been tested for use at 400 gauss in 1.5 tesla scanner suites.

The AV-S MRI, Prima 451 MRI, and other products from Penlon’s extensive portfolio, will be on display at the AAGBI Annual Congress (Liverpool, UK), Anesthesiology (Boston, USA) and Arab Health (Dubai, UAE) in the coming months.

Penlon is a long established medical device company, with headquarters and manufacturing facilities based in Abingdon, UK.
